Kid's Yoga (pre-registered)
Yoga comes naturally to children; many start doing poses at a very young age. Yoga has many great benefits for kids, it helps them regulate emotions, find focus, relaxation, self-awareness and inner fulfillment. It also promotes connectivity and self-esteem in a safe and non-competitive environment. Physically it can help them with their balance, strength, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness. Each week class will begin with a theme, breath-work, and setting of intentions. We will move through sun salutations and various postures, followed by fun yoga-inspired games that promote creativity, listening to the body, and learning to follow intuition. We will then move through meditation, chanting, and relaxation. We will also take a few minutes to draw and/or journal our experiences in class. Closing class with a friendship and sharing circle.

Restorative Yoga allows the body to relax and rest deeply. The foundation of this style of yoga is deliberate stillness. This stillness helps to reduce the effects of daily stress - a great way to balance out an active lifestyle.

This class begins by strengthening the whole body with mobility in mind and tapers for the second half to offer a more relaxed and rejuvenating experience. The first half of the class is dedicated to activating yang energy. Yang is said to represent the more vigorous, active energy within us-we challenge ourselves in the first half of the class by holding strengthening asanas. The second half is dedicated to yin energy. Yin is said to represent the softer and more passive energy within us- we get deeper into our connective tissues; joints, ligaments, and tendons. By holding yin asanas for a longer period of time, we may increase our flexibility of body and mind, and settle the nervous system to activate the parasympathetic system. By the end of this class, you will feel energetically balanced in your mind and body.
This class is a meditative, reflective practice that requires receptivity with little pushing or strain. Yin Yoga applies long, passive holds (no standing poses) to deeply penetrate the body's bones and connective tissue. It raises one’s vitality, increases flexibility and mental energy, and is calming for the mind and spirit. The Yin style of practice targets the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis, lower belly and spine. The essence of Yin is yielding - learning how to let go of struggle and how to allow things to unfold naturally.
