Sherri Zawada

I graduated from the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy as a registered massage therapist (RMT).

Due to life experience I have a deep understanding and knowledge of chronic pain, rehabilitation and sports injuries, therefore when life lead me to a new opportunity for a career I chose massage therapy so I could help improve people's quality of life.

As an RMT I incorporate assessment/testing, Swedish and orthopedic massage, joint mobilization/traction, active release and stretching; specializing in therapeutic and deep tissue, as well as myofascial cupping.

I have experience with youth to elderly clients. As well as athletes, people going through rehabilitation, and pregnancy; and those who simply want tension release and relaxation.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking, camping, being outdoors; as well as traveling and spending quality time with my family and friends. I enjoy practicing yoga, and I am currently working towards my yin teaching certification.

I graduated in 2015 from the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy with distinction and have been practicing Therapeutic Massage ever since. I have continued to take courses throughout my career to develop effective techniques to apply in my treatments. I am trained in Swedish Massage (Deep tissue), Orthopedic Massage Techniques (Mobilizations and Passive Relax Stretching), and Rapid Neuro Fascial Reset (Active release with movement).

I truly believe manual therapy can be a great benefit to anyone seeking relief from pain. Conditions such as chronic back pain, decreased range of motion, TMJ dysfunction, tension headaches, migraines, whiplash, shoulder tendonitis, golfers/tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, etc. can all be treated with therapy. I believe its important to learn the root of the dysfunction through an assessment to design the treatment accordingly and to provide an educated home care program.

Being an avid snowboarder and skateboarder for 20 years, I have developed an understanding of healing from pain and dysfunction in order to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. I am a Bike Mechanic during the summer months in Waskesiu, where I enjoy all the activities the boreal forest has to offer. I spend the winters in Saskatoon Massaging, actively going to yoga, and enjoying the snow.
